The Delamars is an indie-folk project from the West of Ireland from writer/vocalist Maria Shiel and guitarist/producer Cesar Benzoni. Original songs written by the Atlantic ocean fused with the musicality of the USA! Ethereal vocals, country and bluegrass jip and Native American rhythms all fuse together on their debut album, Songs from the Sea due out early 2020.
"De la mar" means 'of the sea' and is an old romantic phrase used by Spanish poets and sailors when speaking of the sea in the feminine form.
His huge love for Irish and American roots music took him touring across the USA in 2018 and onto Galway, Ireland where he now resides. His production work on this project involves a host of established Irish artists including Tom Portman on Dobro and Ritchie Dietrich on drums.

".. Dublin based musician Maria Shiel who is also known as MS44 has intermingled a diverse selection of elements to administer a hypnotic dose of avant garde music...her collaborations encompass earthy and folk influences from around the world combined with sprightly rock sounds, contemporary vibrations, electronic components, and entrancing vocals.....
"..a beautiful mix of electronica inspired acoustics ...that brings with it thoughts of other female artists like Florence Welch..."
“Star” opens with an almost Enya-esque wall of ambient vocals... It’s the perfect soundtrack for a movie dreamscape. Maria sounds a little like Edie Brickell."
